Among other things (lifetime student, pruner of hedges, lover of wind), I am a counselor and a writer. As a counselor, I specialize in addiction: eating disorders and chemical dependency. My approach draws from dialectical behavioral therapy and internal family systems, is narrative-based and relationally-focused. As a writer, I search for my own truth and self, in both fiction and non-fiction, most acutely in poetry.

I do not really see too many divides between counseling and writing: conceptually, in either arena we are doing detective work. It just depends on for whom. Here I hope to explore, to be curious and to author questions, while writing and re-writing my – as well as our – story. I hope you’ll join me.
